María Angeles Moro is Full Professor of Pharmacology and Co-Director of the Neurovascular Research Unit at the Department of Pharmacology, Medical School, Universidad Complutense of Madrid (UCM), Spain. She obtained her PhD in Pharmacology at Universidad de Alcalá and, after a postdoctoral research stay at Wellcome Research Laboratories (UK), supported by the Human Capital and Mobility Programme (now MSCA) of the EC, she joined UCM in 1995. Since then, she has been working in the cerebrovascular field, mainly devoted to the elucidation of mechanisms of damage and recovery in acute and chronic stroke and in vascular dementia. Her work is reflected in main textbooks and book chapters, patents, 150 indexed publications, and in 17 supervised PhD theses. Dr. Moro’s “h-index” in May 2017 was 51 (ISI Web of Science or Scopus) or 58 (Google Scholar). She is member of the Editorial Boards of “British Journal of Pharmacology” and “Stroke”, of the “Publications Committee” of the “International Society of Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism”, and Section Editor of “Neuroscience”.
